Very interesting photo of a Cirrus accident. Looking at the IAP this appears to be a runway overrun incident but can't tell which runway this is. I would really be interested to know what caused this accident such as poor visibility, wet runway conditions, landing overweight, PIC judgement error, etc options of what could have caused the incident.

KAVX (Catalina IS, CA) is a short (3000'), down hill slope which falls off into the ocean -- it's not hard to guess the pilot overshot the runway and was lucky not to have gone into the water

Ken - Thanks! I wondered if anyone would pick up on the Double Globe theme, not quite TWA, not quite an eclipse, but fun none the less. Ken, where are you based out of? You got a ton of great shots, and you seem to get around quite a bit. I'm in the Indy are but get to shoot up at ORD/CVG/DTW areas fairly regularly.

I was hoping for the C-17 to take off on the Runway 18 Flightline...but at the last minute it got directed to Runway 27 ....fortunately I was lined up pretty good with the flag.

I worked as an Aircraft Electrician on these birds at George AFB (F-106 squadron) and Phalsbourg AB, France (F-84F squadron) 1960-1964. They were great birds to maintain, and the pilots flew them all the time

This shot is on runway 27 at Oshkosh. White markings are used on runways and yellow are used on taxiways.

They do use the taxiways for takeoffs and landings on runway 18/36 but not on runway 27/9.
Nice shot of this Scout with the tail off the ground on rollout.

It is really exciting times in aviation with the return of many routes and new services and upgauges such as at DFW photographed here with the Turkish Airlines 789 from IST, BA A380 from LHR (formerly 773), Iberia A330 from MAD, FinnAir A350 from HEL, Air France from CDG, Viva A321N from MTY (formerly A320), and many more!
