This is a Saab 340B. Previously a Saab 340A used this registration.

@bryan glad you like it! I’m Modesto based not in Reno very often. Unfortunately most of the photos of yours came out pretty blurry. The the back of our plane on the FBO ramp was a perfect place to take pictures, glad I brought the camera.

Great pic! Thanks again, I think you have gotten good pics of a few of my planes in the KRNO area.

Merci beaucoup pour la photo 😊

Nice pic Jennifer. I love helos and I love helo pics that stop the main rotor but bend the tail rotor. It kinda brings home the idea of how much faster the tail rotor spins.

MD!? Let's go with the H500, that's a Hughes LOcH out in the Pacific somewhere...

Written on 14/08/2022 by skylab72

This was actually the plane I started my flight training in when it was housed at KAPA. I tagged the photo, I did not claim it as my own.

I Always loved that plazne the T Bird.. I flew in the FAF French Air Force on it ... we used it for IFR training.. Excellent endurance and visibility..Nice picture

Did my advanced flying training on the CanadairT33 at RCAF Macdonald. They were powered by the RR Nene engine which instructors who had flown the US engined version said made it superior in its performance.

We were unable to show the N2557A yet we found a similar plane that we use for estimating sales tax.

George >> Actually, this is the second "rebirth' of Eastern. (Note the well known EAL logo on the top part of the tail.) The first rebirth was several years ago. That time the new fleet came out with the same hockey stick livery in the same colors as EAL was wearing when Lorenzo took over and raped the company into bankruptcy. That new Eastern tried to make a "go' of it as a charter company, although when air service between Florida and Cuba resumed that Eastern company did run a regular flight back and forth. But the service was unprofitable and that new Eastern (which had purchased a couple of new B737s right out of the factory and then couldn't pay them off), folded and its new B737s went to Swift (which still has one flying in the EAL paint but new titles).. So now what you are seeing above is the second "restart' of Eastern. It has several B763s, including one that wears the New England Patriots Super Bowls special livery and a second one that wears NE Patriots colors but no SB trophies on the tail.

Been there. Drank and ate at that bar over the water. Quite a site seeing those big birds flying in so low. Your can see them making the landing approach far off in the west. Do not advise running up to the fence during take offs. There is only one runway. Used for landings and take offs. Planes have to rev up engines to clear the mountains at the other end. Engine exhaust is blowing real hard at the people at the fence. People still do it. There has been fatalities.

The Eastern Airlines I used to know closed up shop years ago. Is this the new re-birth of Eastern Airlines?

Awesome view! Those guys were having a great time!

Those fuel tanks didn't do much for speed or maneuverability. But the look cool.

Written on 12/08/2022 by Mark Albrecht

Although it is not my favorite plane, there is no doubt that the photo is extraordinary.
